Mr. Black has over 45 years of varied business experience, including working as an accountant and chief financial officer of a major multi-state supermarket retailer/SEC registrant with retail sales exceeding $2 billion. During the past 20 years, his primary focus has been on the management/accounting of Chapter 11 liquidations. Mr. Black has provided services to Plan Administrators and Liquidating Trustees for various Chapter 11 liquidations and for Persons of Responsibility for wind downs since 2001. These services include day-to-day accounting for trusts; estates and wind downs; reconciliation and database management of bankruptcy claims; management of the preparation of bankruptcy SOFA’s and schedules; making timely distributions to creditors/ beneficiaries; preparing various budgets and operating reports/ statements; handling bank relations and cash management of the entities; and assistance in the liquidation and final wind-down of operating facilities. Previously Mr. Black spent 25 years at publicly traded Jitney Jungle, a regional grocery chain in the Southeast with over $2 billion in sales where he rose from being a staff accountant to chief financial officer. While at Jitney Jungle, his experience included reporting for a public company, mergers and acquisitions, and all aspects of treasury management and accounting.

 

Additionally, Mr. Black has served on several non-profit boards. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi and is a Certified Public Accountant. He currently resides in Brandon, MS.
