Andrew Gutmann is a Senior Vice President at Asgaard Capital LLC. As a principal, advisor and educator, he brings more than 15 years of investment banking and entrepreneurial experience to the team.

Prior to joining Asgaard Capital, Mr. Gutmann led or helped execute M&A, restructuring and capital raising transactions for clients in multiple business sectors including consumer/retail, energy, financial services, industrials, real estate, technology and telecommunications.

Mr. Gutmann previously worked as Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions group of HSBC, and as an Investment Banking Associate at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin (HLHZ). He is also a co-founder and CEO of Annabelle Joule, a New York based branded apparel wholesaler and the former Chief Financial Officer of Intronis Technologies, a venture capital funded technology firm.

Mr. Gutmann started his career as a Research Assistant at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve in Washington, DC. He then spent nearly three years at Basstech International, his family’s international chemical business, where he was involved in all aspects of that business, including the evaluation of strategic acquisitions.

Of note, Mr. Gutmann is the CEO and founder of the Institute for Finance. He also teaches courses on corporate finance and valuation at Columbia Business School where he advises MBA and Executive MBA students pursuing careers in investment banking and finance.

Mr. Gutmann earned his B.A. in Economics (with Honors) from The Johns Hopkins University and his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
